Fine art can need a little photoshopping, too

Sometimes even beautiful fine artwork with beautiful photography still needs a little professional retouching in a studio to bring out the brilliant color potential. I love it when local artists recognize this and send their work to Barking Pixel for just that reason. Typically this sort of retouching does not take much time, yet provides the artist with a more accurate and beautiful representation of their work.

Recently I was able to work with an exceptionally talented fine artist – Scott Rolfe at Rusty Crocodiles (srolfe.com). He has completed a mixed media series based on Aesop’s Fables.

Barking Pixel was hired to simply knock out the background and enhance color to match the original artwork as well as compensate for color on press and for the paper used on press.
